Crispy chicken recipe

Good evening readers!
Don't know if you already know the new show of channel 4 "Cook yourself thin". Anyway, I leave here a very easy and delicious recipe.

Calories per serving, chicken with coleslaw: 519
Calories per serving, tartar sauce: 27

For the chicken
2 cloves garlic, smashed
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 bay leaf
2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup nonfat buttermilk
1 pound chicken tenders (about 12)
1 1/2 cups cornflakes, crushed to medium crumbs
Nonstick cooking spray

For the tartar sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons low-fat sour cream
1 tablespoon nonfat buttermilk
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves, chopped
1 tablespoon drained nonpareil capers
1 tablespoon chopped sweet gherkin
1 tablespoon water

For the coleslaw1 1/2 (10-ounce) bags cabbage slaw mix
1 red bell pepper, sliced thin
2 tablespoons thin-sliced red onion
1 tablespoon low-fat sour cream
1 tablespoon nonfat buttermilk
1 tablespoon seasoned rice wine vinegar
2–3 dashes hot pepper sauce
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
8 cherry tomatoes, quartered, for garnish

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray lightly with cooking spray. Set aside.

2. For the chicken: In a medium bowl, combine the garlic, spices and buttermilk. Add the chicken and turn in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.

3. For the coleslaw: In a large bowl, combine the cabbage slaw mix, bell pepper, onion and shredded herbs. In a separate smaller bowl, whisk together the sour cream, buttermilk, vinegar, hot pepper sauce, salt and pepper. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss to coat.

4. For the tartar sauce: Whisk together all of the ingredients in a separate small bowl.

5. Place the cornflake crumbs on a plate. Drain the chicken tenders. Pick up a chicken tender with one hand, and turn it in the cornflake coating, using the other hand to gently press additional coating onto the sides. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Continue on in this way to coat all of the chicken pieces, arranging them on the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake at 400 degrees until firm, about 15 minutes.

6. To serve, divide the coleslaw among 4 bowls. Arrange 3 chicken tenders, standing up with wide ends at the bottom and overlapping slightly, at one side of each mound. Drizzle the sauce over the chicken. Garnish bowls with chopped cherry tomatoes and fresh herbs.

Another evening

Can't survive without coffee specially with cream! Now I will spend evening reading "The Cradle will fall" by Marry Higgins Clark and thinking about this tough times I'm going through. We should enjoy this little pleasures of life to stop thinking about problems and stressful situations.

A new phase is going to begin very soon...

The "secret" of success is not very hard to figure
out. The better you are at connecting with other
people, the better the quality of your life.

Except if some people are jealous of you and your
success. Then you probably should ignore them!

Hair Regrowth

Treatment

"The easiest treatment is to improve your diet. Taking vitamins for hair growth may resolve your concerns. B vitamins are probably the best vitamin for hair growth. If that doesn't do the trick, there are a number of other options.
There are topical creams such as Rogaine, which has been shown to be effective in both men and women by stimulating scalp hair regrowth. It can have dangerous side effects though, and can be rather messy to apply as well.
There are also medications that come in a pill form, such as Propecia. Sometimes it needs to be combined with a topical treatment such as Rogaine in order to be effective. Propecia also carries the risk of some side effects, including sexual side effects.
In order to avoid the side effects and risks of medical treatment options, many people prefer to try natural products instead. In addition to helping with scalp hair regrowth, these natural treatments often have other health benefits as well." By: http://www.quickcare.org/skin/hair-regrowth.html

Yeah, healthy food and bla bla bla. It doesn't work anymore! What should I do when (probably) the cause is too much stress?

"Making Magick: For witches and Pagans"

"Give someone a spell and they can do magick for a day. Teach someone how to create a spell, and you give them the gift of a lifetime of making magick."

Edain McCoy in this book explains how magic works as the requirements to successful magic so it is quite interesting if you are learning about this topic.
The second chapter begins with some techniques to invoke and send power and some vizualization exercises as well very easy to execute I assure you. Then from the third chapter on Edain teaches how to choose the best moment to create spells which is very important to be successful and she gives a few examples. Well I guess you already have an ideia of the contents so I hope you read "Making Magick" soon and enjoy it.

I have tried this hair mask "Syoss - Nutrition oil care" and my hair is more soft and smells like flowers. So I am truly happy with the purchase.
Anyway I want to share with my readers something interesting I have found on the internet. It could be useful if you care about your hair!

Foods For Hair growth

Thyroid dysfunction can be a cause of hair loss. If that is the case, then eat foods rich in iodine and vitamin A. Eat vegetables such as carrots, cabbage, mustard, soy beans, peanuts, pine nuts, spinach, turnips and oils such as flax, walnut or pumpkin seed.A low-fat diet can help in slowing down the baldness process in men. A high-fat, meat-based diet raises testosterone levels, and that may adversely affect hair follicles.
If you are anemic, then take iron rich foods.
Foods high in protein. can encourage hair growth. Foods high in protein include cheese, beans, lentils, yogurt, brewer's yeast, soy products, eggs and fish. Soy protein stimulates hair growth, so eat tofu and drink soy milk, which are good sources of soy protein.
Silica can slow hair loss. Use silica shampoo. Silica is found in potato skin, peppers, cucumbers, bean sprouts, etc.

My favorite gem

"Amethyst has the ability to transform lower vibrations into higher resonance and act as a healing energy at all levels of mind, body, and spirit.  Amethyst is universally considered to be a powerful superconductor crystal.  It is scientifically proven to deliver the steadiest most absorbable long wave far infrared rays for healing"

Because I could not stop for Death –
He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
And Immortality.

We slowly drove – He knew no haste
And I had put away
My labor and my leisure too,
For His Civility –

We passed the School, where Children strove
At Recess – in the Ring –
We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain –
We passed the Setting Sun –

Or rather – He passed us –
The Dews drew quivering and chill –
For only Gossamer, my Gown –
My Tippet – only Tulle –

We paused before a House that seemed
A Swelling of the Ground –
The Roof was scarcely visible –
The Cornice – in the Ground –

Since then – 'tis Centuries – and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised the Horses' Heads
Were toward Eternity.

In some rituals you could also anointing the candles with special oils. These oils you could buy in every magic shop or you could make your own.
I have a very interesting book of Scott Cunningham (The complete book of incense, oils and brews) which explains all that process of making oils, inks and herb baths. If you have any interest in that topic you probably should buy it.

Herb recipe II

This morning I woke up at 5am with a weird feeling about today. Guess I was right! Have no inspiration to finish some works and also have one book report to do.

Photo: Quinta da Regaleira, Sintra

Well, here is a mixture for nervous cases like hysteria from a book of Raymond Buckland:

Nerve mixture:
Tine, of Pimpernel—Vz oz.
Mint Water (Menths virdis)—iVz oz.
Tine. Valerian—1 dr.
Comp. Tine. Cardamon—Vz oz.
Mix well. Dose: 2 tablespoonsful, 3
times a day.

Valerian is easy to find in every herbal store but I warn you the smell of valerian is not so good anyway that's very effective.
If you find the mixture too difficult you also could make just a simple valerian tea.
